Cooperation Agreements

The Florence International Mediation Chamber (FIMC) has worked since its founding to advance the understanding, acceptance and use of international mediation throughout the world. In order to achieve this, FIMC continuously strives to create and broaden their network with other institutions in order to offer enterprises dealing with foreign partners a broad choice of high-tier international mediators.
In May 2015 FIMC signed two memoranda of understanding with two of the leading mediation institutions in America and Asia; AAA/ICDR (American Arbitration Association/ International Center for Disputes Resolution) and SIMC (Singapore international mediation centre).

Convention between the FIMC and the Chamber of Commerce of Maremma and the Tyrrhenian

As a result of an agreement stipulated between the Florence Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Maremma and the Tyrrhenian, the enterprises can avail themselves at the Chamber offices of Livorno and Grosseto of the international mediation service managed by the FIMC (Florence International Mediation Chamber).

The Chamber of Commerce of Maremma and the Tyrrhenian is, indeed, inclined to provide a service, in his geographical area, consisted of the Livorno and Grosseto provinces, a service of international commercial mediation in support of enterprises, also taking into account the specific transnational connotation  of the economy in his own territory, with specific reference to shipbuilding, maritime and tourist sector.

It follows, from this agreement, that it will be possible to lodge the application, the documents and to have the meetings directly at the seat of Livorno or Grosseto, considering the parties’ choice.

Cooperation Agreement between the Florence Chamber of commerce and the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague

On 29th March 2018 the Florence Chamber of commerce signed a cooperation agreement with the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague. According to the agreement, the Chamber headquarters are available as a venue for arbitral hearings under the auspices of the Permanent Court of Arbitration in The Hague

The agreement also enables the Florence Chamber of Commerce to organize the mediation meetings of the Florence International Mediation Chamber (FIMC) in The Hague at the PCA headquarters.

Furthermore, the two institutions undertake to promote and enhance international alternative disputes resolution instruments, such as mediation and arbitration, by way of joint initiatives.
